First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh

Part Time: 8-10 hours a week and extra time at year end

$15.00 an hour

Seeking a bookkeeper with the ability to work independently, combined with strong analytical skills and positive interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.  Will report administratively to the Head of Staff with functional reporting responsibility to the organization leadership and the Treasurer.  Basic knowledge of accounting fundamentals and generally accepted accounting practices required.

Monthly Responsibilities and Duties via QuickBook:

Reconcile bank statements monthly and present monthly report

Manage account payable:  pay bills on time, monitor due date generate checks

Prepare monthly cash journal, obtain proper signatures and mail checks in a timely way

Maintain financial records and assist with the annual financial audit

Work with the Staff and leadership mentioned above to prepare annual budget

Keep financial records up to date and assist with annual financial audit


Possible expanded role Maintain Payroll:

Process payroll bi-weekly

Receive exception timesheets calculate pay and generate checks

Maintain a record of all earned wages, withholding, and vacation day accrued/used

Prepare and file all tax reports in a timely manner

Keep current on applicable federal, state, and local tax requirements

Required Software Competencies include:  Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks

Knowledge of Servant Keeper is helpful but not required
